Johannes Kleiner's research at the MCMP combines philosophical and mathematical tools to tackle questions regarding consciousness. He works on the formal structure of theories of consciousness, models of measurement in consciousness science, and on whether artificial intelligence is capable of conscious experiences. Johannes Kleiner also works on topics in the calculus of variations, mathematical physics, and the foundations of physics.
